Residential fencing contractors not only ensure the profession installation of fencing on your property, but they can also enhance the overall aesthetic appeal of your property. However, the price of getting fencing on your property is not cut and dry. A number of factors could influence the amount of money that you spend both in the short term as well as long-term. It is never advisable to simply guesstimate your expenditure before you have a concise analysis done on your property. Here are some of the factors that can influence the cost of your fencing.

What lies beneath

Although the majority of your fencing will be above ground, you still need to consider what lies beneath your property, as this could affect the installation of your fence. What the earth on your property comprises can make fence installation either very complicated or quite simple. For instance, properties that consist of either soft soil or clay will require the fencing contractors to dig deeper than normal. In addition to this, more concrete will be required to keep the posts stable. As such, this translates to increased labour costs. Large rocks on the property will also pose a problem, as the contractors will have to excavate them before they can begin their work.

The slope of your property

Another factor that could increase the price of your fencing project would be the slope of your property. Typically, most residences will have a gradual slope to facilitate the ease of drainage. However, if your home is located on the side of a hill, you will find that this slope is much more pronounced than average. You could also have a large slope if you have embarked on extensive landscaping projects. A slight slope is easy to construct a fence on since it does not need much preparation, thus keeping your costs down. An accentuated slope, on the other hand, will require the fencing contractors to precisely measure the stringers and boards that will be used in accordance to the slope. This takes up much more time and labour, thus increasing the price of the fence.

Maintenance of the fence

An aspect most homeowners overlook is what will be required to keep the fence in good condition after it has been installed. Choosing to use weather resistance materials from the onset will ensure you keep costs low when it comes to damage from exposure to the elements. However, if you opt for aesthetics rather than functionality, then you will find that you will be paying a lot of money into the repair of your fencing over the years.
